The star opened the pit of the Abyss, and smoke rose out of it like the smoke of a great furnace, and the sun and the air were darkened by the smoke from the pit.

1Angẹli karùn-ún sì fún ìpè tirẹ̀, mo sì rí, ìràwọ̀ kan bọ́ sílẹ̀ láti ọ̀run wá, a sì fi kọ́kọ́rọ́ ihò ọ̀gbun fún un. 2Ó sì ṣí ihò ọ̀gbun náà, èéfín sì rú jáde láti inú ihò náà wá, bí èéfín ìléru ńlá, oòrùn àti ojú sánmọ̀ sì ṣókùnkùn nítorí èéfín ihò náà. 3Àwọn eṣú sì jáde ti inú èéfín náà wá sórí ilẹ̀, a sì fi agbára fún wọn gẹ́gẹ́ bí agbára àkéekèe ilẹ̀. 4A sì fún wọn pé ki wọn má ṣe pa koríko ilẹ̀ lára tàbí ohun tútù kan, tàbí igikígi kan; bí kò ṣe àwọn ènìyàn tí kò ni èdìdì Ọlọ́run ní iwájú wọn.
