“Go and tell Ebed-melech the Cushite that this is what the LORD of Hosts, the God of Israel, says: ‘I am about to fulfill My words against this city for harm and not for good, and on that day they will be fulfilled before your eyes.

Wọ́n gbé e lọ fún Gedaliah ọmọ Ahikamu ọmọ Ṣafani láti mú padà lọ sí ilé àti máa wà pẹ̀lú àwọn ènìyàn rẹ̀. 15Nígbà tí Jeremiah wà nínú túbú, ọ̀rọ̀ Olúwa tọ̀ ọ́ wá wí pé: 16“Lọ sọ fún Ebedimeleki ará Kuṣi, ‘Èyí ni ohun tí Olúwa àwọn ọmọ-ogun, Ọlọ́run Israẹli wí: Èmi ṣetán láti mú ọ̀rọ̀ mi ṣẹ lórí ìlú yìí nípa àjálù kì í ṣe àlàáfíà. Ní àkókò náà ni yóò ṣẹ lójú rẹ. 17Ṣùgbọ́n, Èmi yóò gbà ọ́ lọ́jọ́ náà ni Olúwa wí. A kò ní fi ọ́ lé ọwọ́ àwọn tí o bẹ̀rù. 18Èmi yóò gbà ọ́ là; o kò ní ṣubú láti ipa idà; ṣùgbọ́n ìwọ yóò sá àsálà fún ẹ̀mí rẹ, nítorí pé ìwọ ní ìgbẹ́kẹ̀lé nínú mi, ni Olúwa wí.’ ”
