“We will stay on the main road,” the Israelites replied, “and if we or our herds drink your water, we will pay for it. There will be no problem; only let us pass through on foot.”

17Yɛsrɛ mo sɛ, momma yɛntwa mu mfa mo ɔman yi mu. Yɛbɛhwɛ yie sɛ yɛremfa mo mfuo ne mo bobe nturo mu. Na mpo, yɛrennom mo abura mu nsuo. Yɛbɛfa ɔhene kwantempɔn so na yɛremfiri so kɔsi sɛ yɛbɛtra mo hyeɛ a ɛwɔ ɛfa nohoa no.” 18Nanso, Edomhene kaa sɛ,
“Mommfa mʼasase so, anyɛ saa a mede akodɔm bɛhyia mo!” 19Israelfoɔ no buaa sɛ,

“Mommfa yɛn asase so!”
