So the prophet Jeremiah spoke to all the people of Judah and all the residents of Jerusalem as follows:

1Asɛm a ɛfa Yudafoɔ nyinaa ho baa Yeremia nkyɛn wɔ Yudahene Yosia babarima Yehoiakim, adedie afe a ɛtɔ so ɛnan a ɛyɛ Babiloniahene Nebukadnessar adedie afe a ɛdi ɛkan. 2Enti odiyifoɔ Yeremia ka kyerɛɛ Yudafoɔ ne wɔn a wɔtete Yerusalem nyinaa sɛ, 3Mfeɛ aduonu mmiɛnsa* nie, ɛfiri Yudahene Amon babarima Yosia adedie afe a ɛtɔ so dumiɛnsa bɛsi ɛnnɛ, Awurade asɛm aba me so na makasa akyerɛ mo mpɛn bebree, nanso monntieɛ. 4Mpo Awurade asoma nʼasomfoɔ a wɔyɛ nʼadiyifoɔ aba mo nkyɛn mpɛn bebree, na montiee wɔn, na monyɛɛ aso mmaa wɔn.
