Àwọn olórí rẹ̀ ń ṣe ìdájọ́ nítorí àbẹ̀tẹ́lẹ̀, àwọn àlùfáà rẹ̀ sì ń kọ́ni nítorí owó ọ̀yà àwọn wòlíì rẹ̀ pẹ̀lú sì ń sọtẹ́lẹ̀ nítorí owó. Síbẹ̀, wọn gbẹ́kẹ̀lé Olúwa, wọ́n sì wí pé, “Nítòótọ́, Olúwa wà pẹ̀lú wa! Ibi kan kì yóò bá wa.”

Her leaders judge for a bribe, her priests teach for a price, and her prophets practice divination for money. Yet they lean upon the LORD, saying, “Is not the LORD among us? No disaster can come upon us.”

9Gbọ́ ẹ̀yin olórí ilé Jakọbu,
àti ẹ̀yin alákòóso ilé Israẹli,
tí ó kórìíra òdodo
tí ó sì yí òtítọ́ padà; 10tí ó kọ́ Sioni pẹ̀lú ìtàjẹ̀ sílẹ̀,
àti Jerusalẹmu pẹ̀lú ìwà búburú. 11Àwọn olórí rẹ̀ ń ṣe ìdájọ́ nítorí àbẹ̀tẹ́lẹ̀,
àwọn àlùfáà rẹ̀ sì ń kọ́ni nítorí owó ọ̀yà
àwọn wòlíì rẹ̀ pẹ̀lú sì ń sọtẹ́lẹ̀ nítorí owó.
Síbẹ̀, wọn gbẹ́kẹ̀lé Olúwa, wọ́n sì wí pé,
“Nítòótọ́, Olúwa wà pẹ̀lú wa!
Ibi kan kì yóò bá wa.” 12Nítorí náà, nítorí tiyín,
ni a ó ṣe ro Sioni bí oko,
Jerusalẹmu yóò sì di ebè
