And we have come to know and believe the love that God has for us. God is love; whoever abides in love abides in God, and God in him.

14Àwa tí rí, a sì jẹ́rìí pé Baba rán Ọmọ rẹ̀ láti jẹ́ Olùgbàlà fún aráyé. 15Ẹnikẹ́ni tí ó bá jẹ́wọ́ pé Jesu Ọmọ Ọlọ́run ni, Ọlọ́run ń gbé inú rẹ̀, àti òun nínú Ọlọ́run. 16Báyìí ni àwa mọ̀, tí a sì gba ìfẹ́ tí Ọlọ́run ní sí wa gbọ́.
Ìfẹ́ ni Ọlọ́run; ẹni tí ó bá sì ń gbé inú ìfẹ́, ó ń gbé inú Ọlọ́run, àti Ọlọ́run nínú rẹ̀. 17Nínú èyí ni a mú ìfẹ́ tí ó wà nínú wa pé, kí àwa bà á lè ni ìgboyà ní ọjọ́ ìdájọ́: nítorí pé bí òun tí rí, bẹ́ẹ̀ ni àwa sì rí ni ayé yìí. 18Ìbẹ̀rù kò sí nínú ìfẹ́; ṣùgbọ́n ìfẹ́ tí ó pé ń lé ìbẹ̀rù jáde; nítorí tí ìbẹ̀rù ni ìyà nínú.
