Judas did not say this because he cared about the poor, but because he was a thief. As keeper of the money bag, he used to take from what was put into it.

4Yuda Iskariot a ɔyɛ asuafoɔ no mu baako a akyire no ɔbɛyi Yesu ama no ani annye deɛ ɔbaa yi yɛeɛ no ho, 5enti ɔkaa sɛ, “Adɛn enti na wantɔn saa ngohwam yi na yɛamfa sika no amma ahiafoɔ?” 6Ɛnyɛ sɛ na ɔdwene ahiafoɔ ho enti na ɔkaa saa asɛm yi, na mmom, na ɔyɛ ɔkorɔmfoɔ na ɛsiane sɛ na ɔhwɛ asuafoɔ no sika so enti, na ɔwiawia bi. 7Yesu kaa sɛ, “Monnyaa ɔbaa yi haw! Deɛ ɔbaa yi ayɛ yi, ɔde resiesie me ama me wuo. 8Mo ne ahiafoɔ na ɛwɔ hɔ ɛberɛ biara, na me deɛ, me ne mo rentena hɔ daa.”
