Now when all the Amorite kings west of the Jordan and all the Canaanite kings along the coast * heard how the LORD had dried up the waters of the Jordan before the Israelites until they had crossed over,* their hearts melted and their spirits failed for fear of the Israelites.

1Nígbà tí gbogbo àwọn ọba Amori ti ìlà-oòrùn Jordani àti gbogbo àwọn ọba Kenaani tí ń bẹ létí òkun gbọ́ bí Olúwa ti mú Jordani gbẹ ní iwájú àwọn ọmọ Israẹli títí ti a fi kọjá, ọkàn wọn pami, bẹ́ẹ̀ ni wọn kò ní ìgboyà mọ́ láti dojúkọ àwọn ọmọ Israẹli. 2Nígbà náà ni Olúwa wí fún Joṣua pé, “Fi akọ òkúta ṣe abẹ kí o sì kọ àwọn ọmọ Israẹli ní ilà ní ìgbà ẹ̀ẹ̀kejì.” 3Bẹ́ẹ̀ ni Joṣua sì ṣe abẹ akọ òkúta, ó sì kọ àwọn ọmọ Israẹli ní ilà, ní Gibiati-Haralotu.
