This is the text of the letter that Jeremiah the prophet sent from Jerusalem to the surviving elders among the exiles and to the priests, the prophets, and all the others Nebuchadnezzar had carried into exile from Jerusalem to Babylon.

1Èyí ni ọ̀rọ̀ inú lẹ́tà tí wòlíì Jeremiah rán láti Jerusalẹmu sí ìyókù nínú àwọn àgbàgbà tí ó wà ní ìgbèkùn àti sí àwọn àlùfáà, àwọn wòlíì àti gbogbo àwọn ènìyàn tí Nebukadnessari tí kó ní ìgbèkùn láti Jerusalẹmu lọ sí Babeli. 2Lẹ́yìn ìgbà tí Jekoniah, ọba, àti ayaba, àti àwọn ìwẹ̀fà, àti àwọn ìjòyè Juda àti Jerusalẹmu, àwọn gbẹ́nàgbẹ́nà àti àwọn olùyàwòrán tí wọ́n lọ ṣe àtìpó láti Jerusalẹmu. 3Ó fi lẹ́tà náà rán Eleasa ọmọ Ṣafani àti Gemariah ọmọ Hilkiah, ẹni tí Sedekiah ọba Juda rán sí Nebukadnessari ọba Babeli.
