But a Pharisee named Gamaliel, a teacher of the law who was honored by all the people, stood up in the Sanhedrin and ordered that the men be put outside for a short time.

32Àwa sì ni ẹlẹ́rìí nǹkan wọ̀nyí, àti gẹ́gẹ́ bí Ẹ̀mí Mímọ́ ti ṣe ẹlẹ́rìí pẹ̀lú, tí Ọlọ́run fi fún àwọn tí ó gbà á gbọ́.” 33Ṣùgbọ́n nígbà tí wọ́n gbọ́ èyí, ọkàn wọn gbọgbẹ́ dé inú, wọ́n gbèrò láti pa wọ́n. 34Ṣùgbọ́n ọ̀kan nínú àjọ ìgbìmọ̀, tí a ń pè ni Gamalieli, Farisi àti amòfin, tí ó ní ìyìn gidigidi lọ́dọ̀ gbogbo ènìyàn, ó dìde dúró, ó ni kí a mú àwọn aposteli bì sẹ́yìn díẹ̀. 35Ó sì wí fún wọn pé “Ẹ̀yin ènìyàn Israẹli, ẹ kíyèsi ara yín lóhùn tí ẹ̀yin ń pète láti ṣe sí àwọn ọkùnrin wọ̀nyí. 36Nítorí ṣáájú ọjọ́ wọ̀nyí ni Teuda dìde, ó ń wí pé, ẹni ńlá kan ní òun; ẹni tí ìwọ̀n irinwó (400) ọkùnrin dara wọn pọ̀ mọ́; ṣùgbọ́n a pa á; àti gbogbo iye àwọn tí ó gba tirẹ̀ sì túká, tí wọn sí di asán.
