1Nígbà tí ọmọ Saulu sì gbọ́ pé, Abneri kú ní Hebroni, ọwọ́ rẹ̀ sì rọ, gbogbo Israẹli sì rẹ̀wẹ̀sì. 2Ọmọ Saulu sì ní ọkùnrin méjì tí í ṣe olórí ẹgbẹ́ ogun: a ń pe orúkọ ọ̀kan ní Baanah, àti orúkọ èkejì ní Rekabu, àwọn ọmọ Rimoni ará Beeroti ti àwọn ọmọ Benjamini (nítorí pé a sì ka Beeroti pẹ̀lú Benjamini). 3Àwọn ará Beeroti sì ti sálọ sí Gittaimu, wọ́n sì ṣe àtìpó níbẹ̀ títí ó fi di ọjọ́ òní yìí. 4(Jonatani ọmọ Saulu sì ti bí ọmọkùnrin kan tí ẹsẹ̀ rẹ̀ rọ, òun sì jẹ́ ọdún márùn-ún, nígbà tí ìròyìn dé ní ti Saulu àti Jonatani láti Jesreeli wá, olùtọ́ rẹ̀ sì gbé e, o sì sálọ, ó sì ṣe, bí ó sì ti ń yára láti sálọ, òun sì ṣubú, ó sì ya arọ.
