Whoever believes in the Son of God has this testimony within him; whoever does not believe God has made Him out to be a liar, because he has not believed in the testimony that God has given about His Son.

8Ẹ̀mí, omi, àti ẹ̀jẹ̀: àwọn mẹ́tẹ̀ẹ̀ta sì wà ni ìṣọ̀kan. 9Bí àwa ba ń gba ẹ̀rí ènìyàn, ẹ̀rí Ọlọ́run tóbi jù: nítorí ẹ̀rí Ọlọ́run ni èyí pé, Ó tí jẹ́rìí ní ti Ọmọ rẹ̀. 10Ẹni tí ó bá gba Ọmọ Ọlọ́run gbọ́, ó ni ẹ̀rí nínú ara rẹ̀; ẹni tí kò bá gba Ọlọ́run gbọ́, ó ti mú un ni èké; nítorí kò gba ẹ̀rí náà gbọ́ tí Ọlọ́run jẹ́ ní ti Ọmọ rẹ̀. 11Ẹ̀rí náà sì ni èyí pé Ọlọ́run fún wa ní ìyè àìnípẹ̀kun, ìyè yìí sì ń bẹ nínú Ọmọ rẹ̀. 12Ẹni tí ó bá ni Ọmọ, ó ni ìyè; ẹni tí kò bá sì ni Ọmọ Ọlọ́run, kò ní ìyè.
