So the three mighty men broke through the Philistine camp, drew water from the well near the gate of Bethlehem, and brought it back to David. But he refused to drink it; instead, he poured it out to the LORD,

14Saa ɛberɛ no na Dawid te sraban mu hɔ a na Filistifoɔ akodɔm no fa bi nso akɔtena Betlehem. 15Dawid daa nʼakɔnnɔ adi sɛ, “Ao, sɛ menya nsu pa a ɛwɔ Betlehem abura a ɛwɔ kuro no ɛpono no ano hɔ no bi a, mɛnom.” 16Enti, Baasa no bu faa Filistifoɔ no mu kɔsaa nsuo no bi firii abura no mu, de brɛɛ Dawid. Nanso, wannom. Mmom, ɔhwie guu Awurade anim. 17Ɔteaam sɛ, “Awurade ma ɛmpare me sɛ mɛnom yei! Saa nsuo yi som bo te sɛ saa mmarima yi a wɔde wɔn nkwa too hɔ, kɔsaa nsuo yi brɛɛ me yi mogya.” Enti, Dawid annom.
